Active since 2006, BMMAF has been a member of IMMAF, the international MMA federation, since 2014. Our aim is to ensure a healthy and structured practice of the discipline on Belgian territory.
A sport for everyone
Our federation works to develop MMA, from recreational to elite level. Through a variety of activities, we enable everyone to discover the benefits of the discipline, whatever their technical level, age or gender.
Develop
BMMAF offers a structured community to its members, enabling them to develop in a healthy and supervised environment (adapted and progressive rules, licences and insurance, technical seminars, etc.). We pay particular attention to the education of both coaches and practitioners, organising technical courses, grade transitions and other certifications throughout the year to help spread quality teaching.
National Team
IMMAF organises world and continental championships around the world, bringing together the national teams of its member federations and the world's best amateur athletes.
With the national team, we want to provide an optimal framework for bringing together and developing the best amateur MMA talent in Belgium. Through elite-level training sessions, we coach and support young athletes who have the ambition to compete and try to win a medal at the IMMAF European or World Championships.
In Belgium
With the national team, we want to offer a global framework to bring together the best amateur MMA talent during elite training sessions and by supporting young athletes who have the aspiration to fight and win medals at the IMMAF European and World Championships.
Promoting recognition
In Flanders, BMMAF is associated with VBKBM2O, and its activities are therefore recognised by Bloso. In Wallonia, despite more than 15 years of activity and development, MMA still suffers from many prejudices and remains ignored by the authorities. We are therefore working towards informal recognition, continually improving the image of MMA in the eyes of the general public, sports fans, journalists, politicians and businesses.
